Holy week marks Jesus’ last journey into Jerusalem, the climactic point of everything he has been doing. For the first time, Jesus is receiving widespread public recognition as the Messiah, the Son of David, just after healing two blind men in Jericho who openly called him by that title. Until now, Jesus had consistently silenced such declarations, telling people not to reveal his identity as the Christ. But here, a clear shift takes place: Jesus no longer hides his identity. As he rides into Jerusalem, he does so openly as King. Yet the way he enters and the actions he takes reveal a kingship unlike any other, one that defies expectations, challenges our assumptions, and redefines what it truly means to be a king.
